What is Duplex & Super Duplex Steel SAW & Flux?
Duplex and Super Duplex Steel SAW (Submerged Arc Welding) wires and flux are engineered for superior performance. Chemically, Duplex steel typically contains 22–25% chromium, 5–6% nickel, 3% molybdenum, and low carbon, while Super Duplex steel has 24–26% chromium, 6–8% nickel, 3–5% molybdenum, and nitrogen for enhanced corrosion resistance. Mechanically, Duplex steels offer 620–850 MPa tensile strength and 25–35% elongation, whereas Super Duplex steels reach 800–1000 MPa with similar ductility. These consumables ensure excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, making them ideal for aggressive environments in oil, gas, and marine applications.
